Retórica de la protesta y mundos de malestar en las letras del rock mexicano: 1992-2002

Resumen

En este artículo se analizan las características retóricas del rock de protesta que se produjo en México a finales de los noventa, por parte de grupos que se ubicaron en el mainstream del campo cultural y las principales urbes del país. Se parte de la idea de que el rock puede operar como un tipo de canción de protesta, que desempeña ciertas funciones en periodos sociales convulsos. Se analiza un corpus de 20 canciones de rock mainstream para identificar los procesos de enmarcado y elecciones temáticas. El análisis permite establecer que la retórica del rock se orienta al delineado de mundos de malestar, más que al llamado a las armas, movilización o protesta en situaciones específicas.
