Abstract

This paper seeks to publicize the methodology used to analyze a role-playing game such as Dungeons and Dragons, the research, theories, methodology, their respective results and conclusions, that had as objective to find the elements of conformation of the experiential narrative in a medium like Dungeons and Dragons. The experiential narrative in this case, operated asa methodology of analysis that resulted in the identification of the fundamental elements for the generation of significant moments in the minds of the players of Dungeons and Dragons. As part of the results, it was found the interactions of the players and the characters with their environments are predominantly generators of the experience, that is, on the side of the players it is the interaction between them, with the dice, character sheets, rules and environmental music that determines the experiencein their timeline; while on the side of the characters, it is the set of interactions in the virtual environment that determines their significant moments to generate the experiential narrative as a whole.
