Abstract

This paper analyses 217 accounts on the Twitter/X platform belonging to activists, organizations and civil society that represent 15 activist agendas in Mexico City. Using data science tools, 551,176 posts were obtained covering a period from July 2017 to April 2023. Offering a theoretical discussion of the notion of communication practices and communicational affordances, the study analyses and describes the configurations and patterns of message production and reach, as well as the use of features such as mentions and hashtags among contemporary digital activisms.
